At the international unit (IU), complete prenatal screening including NIPT, detailed fetal sonographic evaluations and individualized prenatal care from the early stages of gestation to 33-34 weeks are available.

Aiiku Clinic offers NIPT. The IU coordinates the entire NIPT process for couples who prefer help in English.

The IU will present a crash course for the whole process of childbirth. Smart choice and timing for epidural analgesia will be discussed in detail for your autonomy-based decision. These will be scheduled around 34 weeks and take place at Aiiku hospital.

We are in affiliation with Aiiku Hospital and majority of our patients choose Aiiku Hospital for their childbirth. For your informed hospital choice, IU offers a monthly online virtual hospital tour for IU’s patients who would like to see Aiiku hospital.  If you consider other hospitals, we provide smooth and complete transitions for around 30-34 weeks. **

One month checkup and three-month checkup are available. You will have a postpartum mood screening, lactation conscious birth control counselling and pelvic rehabilitation referrals.  Our lactation consultant/midwife may provide breast care for an in-clinic or home visit setting.

We recommend cervical cancer screening, either by Pap test alone or by co-test for all women starting at 21 years of age or after the sexual debut.  We also provide HPV vaccine (Gardasil 9). The benefit of the vaccine is regardless of your age or HPV status.

****  If your screening test is abnormal, we recommend a colposcopic examination and possible cervical biopsy.

Various screening tools in English, corroborating clinics with mental health professionals are available.  If you have an attending doctor/counselor abroad, online triangle care and the medication refills are readily available.

Birth control methods have many different variables including age, past-medical history, convenience, permanence, effectiveness and your cultural background.   It is essential to consider all of these. Surely the decision is ultimately yours, but our knowledge and experience can help you make the right choice.  We also prescribe emergency contraception (pill or another plan B) at the clinic.  Contraceptive implant users may have removal and renewal. Please bring the device of your own supply.

Most sexually transmitted infections (STI) have minimum symptoms, so it is hard to know if you have been infected. Periodic testing is recommended. We offer safe and confidential STI testing and treatment.

Many women going through perimenopause and menopause suffer from a wide range of symptoms including irregular bleeding, hot flashes, insomnia, night sweats, fatigue, depression and more. The word, “menopausal therapy (MT)” has been replacing

“hormone replacement therapy” for various reasons. MT has immediate improvements as well as long term effects, such as coronally, cognitive or bone health benefits. MT is not risk free either.

You can also seek alternative treatments for your individual symptoms and should be able to support an active and healthy life.
