"Comprehensive Medical Care and Preventive Medicine for Lifelong Health"

As a Women's Internal Medicine department, we provide internal medicine care tailored to various life stages including pregnancy, lactation, and menopause. Working in collaboration with our obstetrics and gynecology department, we support women throughout their lives, from pregnancy-related conditions such as gestational diabetes to menopausal symptoms. We also offer general internal medicine and specialized care (diabetes, thyroid disorders, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia/dyslipidemia, endocrine disorders, and lifestyle-related diseases) for both men and women.

  • Diabetes and Gestational Diabetes

We emphasize prevention, early detection, and treatment of diabetes and metabolic disorders during pregnancy and the perinatal period. Our outpatient services include nutritional counseling by registered dietitians, self-monitoring tools such as blood glucose meters and intermittently scanned Continuous Glucose Monitoring (isCGM/FGM), and insulin injection training.

  • Endocrine Disorders (Thyroid, Pituitary, Adrenal)

We provide comprehensive care including diagnostic testing, medication management, and lifestyle guidance for endocrine conditions such as hypothyroidism, Hashimoto’s disease, Graves’ disease, pituitary disorders, and adrenal disorders.

  • Lifestyle-Related Diseases

Prevention of lifestyle-related conditions such as hypertension, hypercholesterolemia (dyslipidemia), hyperuricemia, obesity, metabolic syndrome, and arteriosclerosis is possible through lifestyle modifications. We offer personalized lifestyle guidance, including nutritional counseling by registered dietitians, to provide optimal prevention and treatment strategies.

    Lifestyle-Related Diseases
  • Menopausal Disorders (In coordination with OB-GYN specialists)

While menopausal symptoms are common, when they significantly impact daily life, we provide treatment to improve these symptoms. Working with gynecologists, we develop optimal treatment plans including traditional Japanese medicine (Kampo) and hormone therapy. We also offer DEXA bone density scans for osteoporosis screening, which is common in postmenopausal women.

  • General Internal Medicine

We provide primary care for conditions such as arrhythmias, gastrointestinal symptoms, anemia, and allergies. Services include pregnancy/lactation-safe prescriptions, treatment for common women’s health issues like iron deficiency anemia, cystitis, and constipation, and sublingual immunotherapy for hay fever. Please consult us first if you’re unsure which department to visit.

    Message

My background includes general internal medicine and endocrine metabolism practice at general and university hospitals, where I also conducted diabetes research. My experience extends to participating as a physician in summer camps for children with diabetes and serving as an occupational physician for major corporations. Aiiku Hospital holds a special place in our community, with many patients having been born here themselves or representing three generations of family care. It's truly heartwarming to see such loyalty to our hospital. I strive daily to apply my expertise as an internist to help our patients maintain healthy, fulfilling lives
